ECO PRECOAT FEATURES & BENEFITS
ECO precoat material aids in the filtration process by forming an artificial dust cake on the filter. The precoat is introduced into the airstream at initial startup of the dust collector and establishes a control layer on the filter. This control layer helps protect the filter from blinding and particulate bleed through.
An important fact to remember when putting in new filters is that the filter media is not the actual filter. The dust cake on the filter acts as the filter. The dust cake is responsible for separating coarse and submicron particles from the airstream.
ECO precoat is make up of multiple shaped particles that vary in size. This is necessary to allow the dustcake to cover the filter while keeping air passage ways open and allows air to pass through the filter and helps to increase filter life.
Without an initial dust cake established, the particulate can get into filter openings and may cause particulate bleed through or blinding in the filters. If the filters blind out, it causes a rise in differential pressure. This problem cannot be corrected until the filters are changed.
ECO precoat is a dry dust like powder that when put in the air stream on start up, conditions the bags and helps the collector run at maximum efficiency, increases air flow, decreases differential pressure and cleans more effectively.
ECO precoat is lighter than other common conditioning agents such as fly ash and lime. This keeps the control layer on the filter and does not let it fall off during the cleaning cycle. ECO precoat light weight particles stay suspended on the filter more easily giving a more uniform coating on the filters.
